Ingredients
1 cup warm water (not boiling)
Juice of ½ fresh lemon
½ teaspoon freshly grated ginger (or ¼ teaspoon ground ginger)
1 pinch cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
Instructions
1. Heat the water until warm, not boiling. Too much heat can reduce the effectiveness of lemon and ginger.
2. Squeeze half a lemon into the warm water. For a stronger flavor, use a whole lemon.
3. Grate fresh ginger into the mug, or stir in ground ginger if preferred.
4. Add a pinch of cayenne pepper. Start small and adjust based on your spice preference.
5. Mix well. Drink slowly on an empty stomach, ideally in the morning.
