My family loves pizza! Probably everyone does, right? I’ve tried a few pizza dough recipes and stuck with this one. It’s perfect for Italian pizzas with a thin crispy crust.

All you need is: flour, salt, water, yeast and TIME! Because the dough must rest for some time. Besides the resting time, another factor is important in this recipe: the kneading time. The dough should be kneaded for at least 10 minutes. Therefore, a machine is really advantageous here.

For the dough, first dissolve the yeast in lukewarm water. Then you knead flour, salt and the yeast water for at least 10 minutes. Cover the dough with a damp kitchen towel and let it rest for six hours. After that, you can roll out and top your homemade pizza crust however you like.

I prefer to eat my vegan pizza with spicy tomato sauce, fresh tomatoes, mushrooms and red onions. After baking, I top the pizza with arugula and garlic oil. Yummy!

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups flour

  • 1.5 tsp salt

  • 300ml water

  • 5g fresh yeast (or 0.5 package instant yeast)

Directions

  • Dissolve the yeast in lukewarm water.
  • Mix flour, salt and yeast water.
  • Knead the dough for at least 10 minutes.
  • Let it rest for 6 hours before rolling it out thinly.
